"A Conversation Amongst Friends About Friends We Never Knew"

  • Space HL Gallery 1303 Cullen Boulevard Houston, TX, 77023 United States (map)

The Transitory Sound and Movement Collective will be creating a site-specific experiential work in conjunction and collaboration with Lina Dib's current installation "North to South and Back" at Space HL Gallery in Houston. We will be creating a 20-30 minute piece that takes off from our piece "Thinking About Friends We Never Knew", based on the theme of "Copies, Fakes and Reproduction" that coincides with the current exhibit in The Blanton Museum in Austin which we will be performing there on June 2nd. We all wanted this work to have a life beyond that single performance and to be able to share it with our Houston friends. We were thrilled with the opportunity to perform it here in a new and fresh way in Space HL. This new work will take ideas and some structured from that piece and utilize that within the context of a new conversation with Lina's beautiful and subtle work. This work will reference the previous work but be completely new. Tickets are $10 per person and are only available at the door. Seating will be very limited to 40-50 people max. Doors open at 7 with a very punctual start of 7:30. Arrive Early To Get A Seat. No Late Admissions.
